God I fucking love being a monk at the Monastery of Lindisfarne on this fine morning of June 8th, 793. I love looking at all the gold and silver objects and alive monks that live here.
This is just reminding me of how much the idea of the sweating sickness freaks me out. Like what do you MEAN it seemingly infected and killed in the same day? What do you MEAN it just vanished one day and never came back? What do you MEAN we still don’t know exactly what this illness was to this day???
“Oh but what about the bubonic plague” we now have antibiotics for the bubonic plague. If it comes back, we can cure it. Because we at least know what it is.
